The 2nd grade classes are practicing Christmas carols to sing in December. Here are some of the songs we're learning:
Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
Jolly Old Saint Nicholas, lean your ear this way.
Don’t you tell a single soul, what I’m going to say.
Christmas Eve is coming soon, now you dear old man.
Whisper what you’ll bring to me, tell me if you can.
When the clock is striking twelve, when I’m fast asleep.
Down the chimney broad and black, with your pack you’ll creep.
All the stockings you will find, hanging in a row.
Mine will be the shortest one, you’ll be sure to know.
Bobby wants a pair of skates, Suzy wants a sled.
Nellie wants a picture book, yellow, blue and red
Now I think I’ll leave to you what to give the rest
Choose for me, dear Santa Claus, you will know what’s best.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say,
“Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”
Then all the reindeer loved him, as they shouted out with glee,
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, you’ll go down in history!”

Oh Christmas Tree
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
With faithful leaves unchanging.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
With faithful leaves unchanging.
Not only green in summer’s heat,
But also winter snow and sleet
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
With faithful leaves unchanging.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Of all the trees most lovely
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Of all the trees most lovely
Each year you bring to me delight
Gleaming in the Christmas night
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Of all the trees most lovely
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Your leaves will teach me also
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Your leaves will teach me also
That hope and love and faithfulness
Are precious things I can possess
Oh Christmas Tree , Oh Christmas tree
Your leaves will teach me also
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas
How lovely are your branches
In summer’s sun or winter’s snow
A coat of green you’ll always show
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
How lovely are your branches
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
With faithful leaves unchanging.
Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
